Capturing the impact of the public voice in primary care
What we are doing:
This service-user led research seeks to explore the development and impact of Patient Participation Groups within Northamptonshire General Practice.
Why we are doing it:
Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) are now a statutory requirement, yet there is little evidence to support their impact on the design, delivery and evaluation of GP services. It is an opportunity to understand the characteristics of a PPG that lead to a positive impact on the patient population.
The project will capture and share the different models of PPGs.
What the benefits will be:
The research aims to develop existing knowledge and understanding of the impact of the public voice in primary care, with specific reference to Northamptonshire and its culturally-diverse urban and rural communities.
Who we are working with:
University of Northampton, Patient Participation groups in Northamptonshire and Commissioners.
