CLAHRC East Midlands Faculty Membership

Introduction

Our organisation contains some of the most experienced and talented applied health researchers in the East Midlands. Many of them have international reputations in their chosen field. As one of our key objectives is to increase applied research capacity in the NHS and associated organisations, the creation of an NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands Faculty provides an opportunity for our experience and skills to be utilised across the whole region.

This will bring substantial benefits to Faculty members as they will be able to access, at no cost, a wide range of resources to help expand the reach and impact of applied research initiatives and, ultimately improve the health of people in the region.

Criteria for becoming a Faculty Member

NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands wants to make becoming a member of Faculty as simple as possible and to enrol both experienced researchers and those new to the field into membership. There are some criteria that need to be met. NIHR CLAHRC EM Faculty Members must be:

Benefits of becoming a Faculty Member

By becoming a member of the NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands Faculty, you will have access to the wide range of skills and resources available through NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands. Support will be determined on a case-by-case basis and is subject to available internal capacity. Our skills and resources could include:

  • Affiliation with NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands projects in associated areas of research, for example as a Knowledge Broker 
  • Navigational support in protocol development
  • Application to PhD bursary prizes
  • Support in providing external peer review of protocols and outputs
  • Support in developing effective public participation; a vital key to healthcare research funding applications
  • Written support of research applications from our world class pool of investigators
  • Support in engaging with minority groups through the East Midlands Centre for Black and Minority Ethnic Health (EMCBMEH)
  • Support in disseminating and promoting research outputs. This may be in conjunction with the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (EMAHSN)
  • Opportunity to apply for NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands applied health research funding
  • Links to our partner network across the East Midlands and beyond
  • Discussion with an expert in knowledge translation
  • Receive notification of regular NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands events
  • Receive update information on NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands activities in particular those related to research and funding opportunities
  • Engage at a Faculty level with East Midlands Networks in education and research
  • Contribute to teaching the health and research workforce within East Midlands
  • Join NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands conferences and present your work on implementation research
  • Obtain information on various NIHR Leadership and Development opportunities
